Did you know heart disease is one of the biggest killers of our time? Around half of all men will die from it. A frightening fact. Which makes it all the more important that we are careful about what we consume.
We should all pay attention to our health and diet and be watchful about what we eat. I'll run through some items 5oldnm this article that are to be avoided - and I'm sure there's items here you would never have imagined were detrimental to your health.
Solid oils. Shortening used in making pastry and pie crusts. Extremely bad for your health. Probably so popular as it keeps well and has a long shelf life and people use it instead of lard thinking its healthier but actually the opposite is true. Much beta alanine to use the lard instead.
Deep fried food. Avoid this at all costs. Its rumoured that deep frying food can bring about DNA changes. Whether that's true 5k3cy3 not is anyone's guess but what is known is that research shows that there's a link between deep fried food and cancer.
Refined Flour. Add to this store bought flour as well. Refined flour has amongst other procedures done to it, been bleached. All the nutrition has been removed. Use only whole wheat flour, a much healthier alternative.
White Rice. Another foodstuff that should never be consumed. Similar to flour canada betaine anhydrous much better to use only whole wheat brown rice. 5oldnm you find it difficult to get used to mix it with white rice to begin with until you acquire the taste.
Sugar. Obvious really. Keep your consumption down to a bare minimum. Contains fructose and too much of that will raise your cholesterol - something to bear in mind when you reach for a can of soda or a packet of sweets.
Canned Soup. These are full of salt. If you must have them look out for low salt varieties. Alternatively see if your local deli makes some which is bound to have a much lower salt percentage. Or why not make your own, recipes are simple and easy to prepare and you can keep an eye on the amount of salt added. Much kinder to your heart!
Alfredo sauces. These contain too much salt and butter.
Processed meats. These almost always have a high sugar and high fat content. To be avoided if you can.
Hydrogenated palm oils. Another ingredient to avoid at all costs. Too much of this and you're a heart attack waiting to happen.
Lunchables. Junk food loaded with fats and salt. It's not good to give these to your kids. Look for a healthier alternative.
What goes in one end must eventually come out the other and although it's not exactly a desirable topic of conversation I feel it's important we mention it here. Keep an eye on your stools next time you visit the lavatory.
Believe it or not it's a good way of telling if your diet is too high in fat. If it floats in the bowl it's a sign of a healthy diet. If it sinks to the bottom you're consuming too much fat and you need to change your diet.
If it doesn't float, leave the boat. Meaning if your stool doesn't float in the bowl you're in need of a change in diet.
